For too long, Nigerians have lived in inherited silence about the ills that happen in society and by extension, with the government in power. For too long this has reigned, but no more. Now is the time to not only speak up but to speak the truth. For in such truths do we find true freedom.
The sound design on this project was very intentional and I was tasked with the duty of bringing it to life. The constant whine playing at a low volume intended to increase anticipation; the drums to pull your attention to what matters; the echos; the cheers. Along with the motion design, this treatment worked to amplify the words of the poet, Sage Hassan and bring the listener to a point of action.
Even though this was created before the October 2020 ENDSARS protest, it was a good reminder to keep challenging the powers holding the nation at ransom.
